As a hub for business in Houston and home to more than 70 apartment complexes that our residents call home, safety is at the forefront of North Houston District’s efforts.
By working together with local authorities, investing in preventive measures, and engaging with the community, business leaders and apartment managers can help foster a safer community for everyone. To make it easier to take advantage of the resources that are available, we’ve compiled the current public safety support and engagement opportunities offered to apartments and businesses within the District.

PIP Meetings
The Houston Police Department Positive Interaction Program (PIP) offers a layered and collaborative approach to public safety. Businesses and apartments can attend a PIP meeting at the HPD North Belt Division on the third Thursday of each month.
Attendees will be able to interact with the Differential Response Unit, responsible for code enforcement, nuisance complaints, and other safety-related issues concerning businesses and apartment complexes in the area.
Each month’s meeting also features a guest speaker from HPD to provide a broader overview of the department’s law enforcement priorities and how those are implemented in our neighborhoods. Attendees at the PIP meetings can also suggest topics they would like future presentations to address. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those who wish to support the Positive Interaction Program.
Please consider attending the next PIP meeting for businesses and apartments at noon on Thursday, March 20. The meeting will take place on the 10th floor of HPD North Belt Division, 100 Glenborough Drive.

Trespass Affidavits
For businesses and apartment complexes, safeguarding your property is a top priority. Trespass affidavits are a powerful tool that allows law enforcement to act on your behalf when removing unauthorized individuals from your premises. A trespass affidavit authorizes local law enforcement to enter your property and enforce trespass laws without requiring the owner or representative to be present.
If your property falls under the jurisdiction of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), you’ll need to complete the Trespass Affidavit Form, available here: https://www.northhouston.org/wp-content/uploads/HCSO-Trespaa-Affadavit.pdf
For properties within the Houston city limits, the Houston Police Department (HPD) provides the same service, and authorization can be granted by completing their form: https://www.houstontx.gov/police/registrations.htm
