New HPD North Belt Police Station in the Works
On August 12, city leaders, including Mayor John Whitmire, and law enforcement officials came together to break ground on the new Houston Police Department North Belt Station. This 27,000-square-foot facility will be the first co-located public safety site in the city, sharing land with Houston Fire Department Station 84. The project, expected to be completed in 2026, reflects the District’s commitment to fostering collaboration and supporting long-term public safety partnerships.
Honoring Public Safety Heroes
The District’s annual Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon recognized 30 outstanding individuals for their leadership, dedication, and service. From firefighters and law enforcement to community partners, the honorees represent the best of North Houston’s commitment to safety and security. More than 200 attendees gathered at the Sonesta Hotel Houston IAH Airport to celebrate and honor these local heroes and the collective efforts to strengthen public safety in our area.

Field Services Team Keeps the District Clean and Green
From litter pickup to repairing curbs damaged by heavy truck traffic, the Field Services team works tirelessly to keep the District appealing and accessible. In just three months, crews collected nearly 168,000 pounds of litter! These behind-the-scenes efforts ensure North Houston remains clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and businesses alike.
