Save the Date for National Night Out: Oct. 7, 2025

National Night Out is an annual campaign that promotes police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer and more connected. Presented across the country since 1984, the event encourages residents to meet local law enforcement officers, get to know their neighbors, and receive resources that foster safety and unity within the community. The North Houston District is proud to participate in this year’s event, along with our law enforcement partners, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses.

National Night Out 2025 will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 4-7:30 p.m. at The Harvest, located at 17770 Imperial Valley Drive. The gathering is free to the North Houston community and includes free activities and swag, live entertainment, raffle giveaways, and free groceries through the Houston Food Bank.

Local law enforcement, businesses, military members, elected officials, and community sponsors will participate in the festivities. Among the first responders in attendance will be the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Houston Fire Department, and the Aldine ISD Police Department.

“We appreciate The Harvest for hosting, and we look forward to seeing new and old friends.” Tracy Harrison, Vice President of Public Safety for the District

Last year’s gathering welcomed several hundred attendees and more than 30 vendors. Over the years the number of participants outgrew its original location at Wussow Park, which led The Harvest to step in to host the event.

“Each year this event draws many families who look forward to spending time with their community, enjoying free programming, and interacting with law enforcement,” explained Tracy Harrison, Vice President of Public Safety for the District. “We appreciate The Harvest for hosting, and we look forward to seeing new and old friends.”

Family-Friendly Fun

Activities and attractions for this year are expected to include:

    • Mounted police and their horses
    • Fire trucks and other rescue vehicles
    • Yard games like sack races, limbo, and cornhole
    • Tug-of-war contest
    • Bounce houses
    • Balloon animals
    • Mini train ride for kids
    • Vendors including local businesses and organizations

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and HCSO are excited to connect with neighborhoods across Harris County for an evening of unity, safety, and community spirit,” according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.

Significant Safety Priorities

Along with participation in National Night Out, the District invests in a variety of public safety programs and activities to supplement the hard work of local law enforcement agencies. Harrison leads the charge in continually strengthening partnerships while introducing additional public safety programs, such as parking lot patrols, summertime bike patrols, public park security, outreach programs, and business training opportunities aimed at providing crime prevention resources.

This layered, collaborative approach creates impactful change in the North Houston area for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
