Strategic location underscores commitment to serving North Houston families and fostering collaboration
Thanks to a generous land donation from Chevron, the Houston Food Bank is expanding with a new 325,000-square-foot facility at Texas 249 and Ella Blvd.—a location selected in part for its proximity to communities served by the North Houston District. District leadership is proud to be included in this effort, and Vice President of Public Safety Tracy Harrison serves on the Community Advisory Group, helping shape plans that will positively impact families throughout the region.
This collaboration reflects a long-standing partnership between the Houston Food Bank and the North Houston District. We deeply value the Food Bank’s ongoing commitment to fighting hunger and providing vital support services that help build stronger, healthier communities.
Houston Food Bank serves more than 800,000 individuals experiencing food insecurity in our 18-county service area.

🛠️ Summer 2025 – Construction Begins
Site work is now underway at the new building location near TX-249 and Ella Blvd. During this phase, neighbors can expect grading, excavation, and hauling activity, followed by concrete paving, fence installation, and final site grading.
Expect to see haulers, excavators, and other heavy equipment near the site. Construction-related noise will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays, but all crews will follow City of Houston and Harris County noise regulations.
This initial phase is expected to continue into early 2026.
